The compassionate planner
Article Abstract:
Town Planner and Former Professor Gordon Stephenson died on Mar. 29, 1997, aged 88 years. He was well known for his work as a town planner in the UK, North America and Australia. Stephenson became the Editor of the Town Planning Review publication in 1946 and he continued to write books well into his retirement. Stephenson was made Lever Professor of Civic Design in the University of Liverpool, England, in 1946 and he became very influential in town planning in the UK following the Second World War. Stephenson was also involved in lecturing in universities in the US and Australia.
