What price risk?

The share price risk measure known as beta has been under attack by prominent economists. The capital asset pricing model, of which beta is a part, suggests that only reason an investor will earn more in one share than another is that one is riskier.

Luxury housing development in Beijing has increased tremendously since the government decided to allow the selling of land use. Many of the Chinese can afford only modest housing, and the success of the luxury market depends on foreign investment.
