This time, the Financial System was prepared
Article Abstract:
Stock markets in the United Kingdom did not experience the same degree of fallout as post-September 11th, 2001 World Trade Center attacks, after the London terrorist bombings of the Tube, 2005. Factors that contributed to less economic damage were that major financial district architecture was not destroyed and because there are a number of regulations in place to prevent market disruptions. The London Stock Exchange and London Financial Futures and Options Exchange were unaffected although traders could not get to the London Metal Exchange because the area was cordoned off by police.
