Air cargo carriers need to stay competitive and up to date with current trends in the business that shippers' needs may be met. The recent Air Cargo Shippers Conference in Boston, MA, highlighted shippers' expectations of the air carriers they patronize. The shippers emphasized importer-carrier relationship, stressing carriers' responsibility to focus on the commodity's requirements and the customer's objectives. Most importers see promptness and speed as their major concern and means to compete for business.

Is Cuba a market waiting in the wings?
Article Abstract:
A number of US companies are anticipating possible investment opportunities in Cuba as a result of the USSR downfall. Studies indicate that Cuba has the potential to become a $5 billion annual market for US services and products. However, the US government will continue to maintain its embargo against Cuba as long as Cuban leader Fidel Castro is in power. Despite the government stance, a number of factors may boost the chances for improved trade relationships between the two countries.
