Tax havens in the West Indies are passing laws against money-laundering, but it is unclear whether there is enough political will to act against financial crimes. St Kitts-Nevis, St Vincent, Dominica and Grenada are all introducing reforms, but there have been several embarrassing incidents.

Islands in the Caribbean region are proposing measures to control pollution from cruise ships and for higher port taxes. Hotels have been complaining that they must pay taxes and be subject to certain rules while cruise ships operate with few restrictions.
