Article Abstract:

McDonald's Corp's promotional tie-in with Burger King Corp during the showing of the movies `Toy Story 2' and `Pokemon: The First Movie,' was very popular among its children patrons. However, Burger King's toy giveaways ended up in short supply due to the overwhelming response to the promotion. In contrast, McDonald's toys did not run out ahead of schedule. Analysts said that the toy shortage experienced by Burger King was a miscalculation with a negative impact on the image of the firm.
