Transatlantic aerobatics
Article Abstract:
The merger between British Aerospace (BAe) and Marconi means that it is less likely that a single European defense and aerospace company will be set up. The merger ended the hopes of DASA of merging with BAe. BAe has also become more powerful, and more of an equal partner with large US defense companies. These trends could pave the way for more cooperation between defense companies in the US and Europe. An alliance may be set up between Raytheon from the US, and Thomson from France, which is seeking a partner.
