True believers: new video games need more advanced technology
Article Abstract:
New technology must be adopted to improve the poor picture quality of video games and to attract significant numbers of customers apart from imaginative 12-17 year olds. The poor picture quality of 16-bit machines can be improved by adopting the technologies of polygon rendering and texture mapping. These technologies provide three-dimensional animation. Nintendo Company Ltd plans to introduce the space-battle game Star Fox using polygon chips for a three-dimensional effect. Although Sega Enterprises Ltd's CD Multimedia Entertainment system has been extremely successful, manufacturers will not rush to produce CD-based games because of their high development costs and the small number of CD players in circulation.

A leaner burn: car maker weighs performance against pollution
Article Abstract:

Using Formula One racing as testing ground for its innovations, Honda has managed to show itsedge in engine technology by producing the VTEC-E (valve timing, electronicallycontrolled) engine. Honda now has to meet the challenge of developing the alternative fuel car engine.
