Turbomeca/Denel tie up
Article Abstract:
Turbomeca and Denel Aviation have agreed to form a joint venture which will cover the manufacturing, assembly and support of all existing and future Turbomeca powerplants in South Africa. Under the deal, the joint venture will handle the purchase of components, training and technical assistance. The new business will also be responsible for developing new domestic and export sales opportunities. Turbomeca is opening a liaison office in Sandton, South Africa, to help the new business. Meanwhile, Turbomeca is currently upgrading its two powerplants to boost performance in hot/high conditions experienced in South Africa.

PZL Swidnik awaits suitor
Article Abstract:
PZL-Swidnik, the supplier of the W-3 Sokol multi-purpose helicopter to the Polish Army and other clients, is expected to be privatized by the government of Poland. The company, which has been granted AQAP-110 as well as NATO quality assurance certifications, is expected to be acquired by either Eurocopter or Bell. PZL-Swidnik, which is already making the fuselage for the AB139, is finalizing a separate agreement for the manufacture of components for Bell's production line in Canada.
