The passenger rail service of the Eastern & Oriental Express promises affluent passengers luxurious service reminiscent of the Edwardian era, where train passengers are treated to luxurious lodgings, dining and entertainment. A more utilitarian service is offered by Keratapi Tanah Melaya Bhd. passenger rail service, where passengers are treated to basic services such as seats and some meals.

Disabled travellers often find it difficult to move from place to place, especially in Asian countries. Aside from the lack of accesibility features in many Asian countries, disabled travellers also have to contend with cultural differences. However, one major advantage for disabled travellers is that most Asians are more than willing to provide assistance when asked. Nonetheless, disabled travellers are encouraged to inquire through tourist bureaus about the facilities for accessibility existing in each country.
