U.K. fines HFC Bank over insurance sales

The UK's Financial Services Authority fined a unit of HSBC Holdings for its selling of payment-protection insurance. HFC Bank PLC's penalty is approximately $2.2 mil. The FSA and other watchdogs express concerns that firms are selling inappropriate insurance coverage at exorbitantly high prices, and the FSA has fined other firms over similar sales practices.
