Russia agrees to cut exports of steel, averting U.S. penalties

Russia has reached an agreement with the US over hot-rolled steel exports. Russia has agreed to voluntarily restrict hot-rolled steel exports to the US. The agreement establishes a $225 to $280 per ton price floor on Russian steel. Currently, US steel prices are approximately $250 per ton. Russian hot-rolled steel shipments will be limited to 750,000 tons annually.
