Vivendi gets accord for new tax regime
Article Abstract:
France's Finance Ministry has approved an agreement with Vivendi Universal S.A. that will allow the mass media company to file its taxes under the country's consolidated-global-profits system. The switch to a new tax regime will boost Vivendi's earnings and generate an estimated 3.8 billion euros in extra cash. In exchange, Vivendi has agreed that over the next three years it will create at least 1,600 permanent jobs in France.
