Latest technological developments headway in Internet online sites, CanWest has developed a new multimedia online newspaper. Most of the news and information sites, which could be accessed for free, are not so any more, and users have to subscribe or pay for entry. Various other model newspapers are also being introduced, which of them shall succeed is anybodyEs guess but free rides on the net shall soon be a thing of the past.

Intrigna brand takes Bell, MTS west

Intrigna, a $400-million joint venture between Manitoba Telecom Services and Bell Canada, has set up its headquarters in Calgary, Alberta. Although the telecommunications company has not yet announced an agency of record, it said that it will be launching a marketing campaign by mid-Jul 1999. The company plans to use direct marketing and selected mass-media advertising to promote its brand and image.

Intrigna gets busy in telecom wars

Bell Intrigna, a joint venture of BCE Inc and Manitoba Telecom Services Inc, is reinforcing advertising efforts to increase brand recognition of its telecommunication services that it offers to small and medium-sized businesses. The company launched newspaper, transit shelter and DM campaign created by Cossette Communications, an advertiing agency based in Vancouver, BC.
