Digital TV creeps into the picture
Article Abstract:
The US television broadcasting industry has had a milestone with the debut of high-definition television (HDTV) on Apr 26, 1999, in National Broadcasting Co's 'The Tonight Show.' Although HDTV currently is the most superior form of digital broadcasting, advertisers do not expect much demand for high-definition commercial production since the audience is very small. It is estimated by the end of 1999 only 150,000 Americans will own HDTV sets, 600,000 by the end of 2000 and 10 million by the end of 2005.
