Waterloo's Quarry to head AANI

Alan Quarry, president of Waterloo, Ontario-based Quarry Integrated Communications has been appointed as the first Canadian president of Advertising Agency Network International (AANI). The AANI is a 15-year-old network of 22 communications firms in North America. Quarry, the former president of the Institute of Canadian Advertising, plans to increase AANI's membership to 50 by 2002. The organization will also team up with a European advertising agency network to forge stronger international ties.

Dixon weathers tough tech times

Filament Communications has promoted Kim Dixon to president. With a staff of 28, including sales offices in Toronto, Ontario, and San Francisco, CA, Dixon will oversee a client list that includes Nortel Networks, Scotiabank and Xerox. Dixon worked for nine years as marketing manager at Corel. Her stint was followed by jobs at Hill and Knowlton, AutoSkill International and Ubiquity Softwarewhere she served as vice-president of corporate communications.

Baumann to boost M2's research
Article Abstract:
Bruce Baumann started in Apr 2000 as VP, research director, for the Toronto, Canada-based advertising agency M2 Universal Communications Management. His job is part of the company's initiative to make research a more significant part of buying and planning media. Baumann was formerly a VP and media director for Ammirati Puris. He plans to hire several employees to strengthen the company's research department.
