Article Abstract:
The Norwegian economy appears to be performing well. However, oil prices have been declining, and all the main political parties now recognize that some economic caution is required. It is becoming clear that Norway has failed to diversify enough, and it lacks a strong industrial or manufacturing base. Furthermore, Norway has been negatively affected by a lack of strong political leadership. Issues on which political conflict has arisen include Norway's relations with the European Union.
