Article Abstract:
Statistical information on the comparative performance of investment funds should aid Asian-based investors in planning where to put their money. The funds comprise 23 categories of which 19 are pure equity plays and 13 are equities in Asian time zones. Equities in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hongkong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada and Europe are included. Funds are ranked in accordance with how well they performed in 1992-93.

Allocating assets: three fund managers build investment portfolios
Article Abstract:
Elisabeth Scott of Schroders Asia, Jennifer Hodgson of Jardine Fleming Investment Services, and Cheah Cheng Hye and Yeh V-nee of Value Partners offer suggested asset allocations for two imaginary investors in Asia, one high-risk and one low-risk. Scott suggests no bonds for the high-risk investor but a 43% allocation for the low-risk investor. Hodgson expects solid performances in US bonds and in Southeast Asia.
