Wild in the city
Article Abstract:
The London Ecology Unit was set up in 1984 and now advises other UK authorities and the commercial sector as well as London authorities. Its work is mainly in the areas of conservation and the environment. The Unit is often called in to advise public forums on contentious planning issues. Another aspect of its work is education on environmental issues. Advising on environmental audits and environmentally-friendly landscape design also fall within the Unit's remit.

English Historic Towns Forum; St Albans 1992
Article Abstract:
St Albans is an ancient city and the biggest historic town in Hertfordshire. It has pre-Roman and mediaeval remains including the abbey. It is a major shopping centre trying to keep its history intact. St Albans has good transport links with the rest of the UK. At present the town planners are receiving many applications for listed status and conservation areas, rather than new building.
