Being pushed on world stage
Article Abstract:
Theglobal expansion target of Singapore's banks is hampered by the country's shortage of management experts and the wariness of foreign countries to welcomethem into their areas. Locally, the banks have been experiencing financial stability, as proven by their ability to exceed, by 1993, the 12% capital adequacy standard set by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. The banks have been adopting different strategies to increase their capital base in preparation for an overseas expansion.
