Amidst criticism, Army sticks to armor buying plan
Article Abstract:
The Army has not changed its plans for armored vehicle procurement, despite the many warnings from the field that reinforced Humvees are not providing for troops in Iraq and in Afghanistan. Army officials believe that it is imperative for the Army to accelerate the production of Stryker vehicles to support current operations in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).

Northrop snares $408 million training contract for Army commanders
Article Abstract:
A $408 million contract is provided to a unit of Northrop Grumman to provide training support to top Army generals and their staffs to help hone their battle command skills. The various services that are expected under a 10-year contract includes making of plan and supporting realistic training exercises that stimulate major contingencies around the globe.
