Apache downed in Iraq by unknown weapon
Article Abstract:
An Army AH-64 Apache aircraft downed near Baghdad by an unknown weapon resulted in two fatalities of First Cavalry Division soldiers and as countermeasure systems are not available for unguided rocket-propelled grenades, the same could have been used. However, unless identifiable remains of the missile are found, laboratory analysis of metal fragments would be required to determine the weapon used.

Marine Aviation feels stress of war
Article Abstract:
The Marine Corps' aircraft assets as well as the people who operate them are experiencing the stress of war because they have to operate a flayed but critically needed fleet of helicopters in hostile environments abroad. The probability that the replacement aircrafts may not be ready by the time the current fleet becomes obsolete has also added to their worries.

Rocket test may have damaged super cobra
Article Abstract:
The U.S. Marine Corps damaged one of its two test AH-1Zs when its engine sucked in rocket-exhaust gas from a near simultaneous launch. The over torque occurred during the first three or four rocket launches of a 12-shot ripple firing, where single rockets are launched in pairs from pods on both sides of aircraft simultaneously
