BAE: 'Digital Thread' sets JSF apart

The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) is slated to become an essential aircraft in the United States, Great Britain and other allied nations and is jointly produced by BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin Corp., and Northrop Grumman Corp. The machine's unique feature is a 'digital thread', which refers to the communications interconnection that allows all the contributors to the production of the JSF to read off the same computerized page enabling a high degree of collaboration.

BAE says JSF electronic warfare system passes tests

BAE Systems has stated that it has succeeded in completing the first flight test of its electronic warfare (EW) system for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) aircraft. The F-35 JSF EW system will serve as a primary source of situational awareness for F-35 JSF pilots by enhancing their ability to identify, monitor, analyze and respond to potential threats.

DAB to review JSF program adjustments

The Defense Acquisition Board will be meeting on June 17, 2005 to review the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, in order to solve the problem of excess weight in the planned aircraft. Lockheed Martin Corp. has been working with the military, sub contractors and Northrop Grumman Corp. to solve the weight problem.
