It's smart to go with Alliance and Leicester
Article Abstract:
Alliance and Leicester stocks are greatly in demand with institutional investors. Stockbrokers tend not to recommend these stocks but this could be because their big clients would be hit by a price rise resulting from a recommendation. Alliance and Leicester should make efficiency gains and is likely to be an acquisition target. It is protected against a bid for a five-year period unless it first makes an acquisition or stockholders agree to permit a bid.
