CSAR competition: US101 may hold 'insider' edge
Article Abstract:
The Air Force program to acquire a new combat search and rescue (CSAR) aircraft is scheduled to advance a step in March 2006, as the three main bidders on the program are due to submit their responses to an amended Air Force request for proposals. The acquisition process still has a way to go thereafter, with the Air Force planning to announce the winning bidder in August 2006.

Keys: Raptor ready for war, but can't go alone
Article Abstract:
The US Air Force General Ronald Keys, commander of Air Combat Command, has stated that F-22A Raptors have reached the initial operational capability (IOC), but needs to fly in the company of other, older, aircraft in order to get the job done. The Air Force is planning to deploy 12 Raptors into action in a new war.
