Clark: shipbuilding funds have more than doubled

America's Chief of Naval Operations, Adm. Vern Clark, commented that the navy has increased its shipbuilding procurement program and has doubled the dollars spent on new ships per year over the last five years. Progress on mine counter-measure systems, the mobile user objective system satellite constellation with handheld terminals and the Deployable Joint Command Control System, were cited by Clark.

Lockheed rebounds in fourth quarter; profits double in 2003

Profits in the revenues of Lockheed Martin Corp., the largest defense contractor, have increased after receiving large number of contracts from the Pentagon. Pentagon assigned the largest military contract of worth $200 billion pact for the development and production of the F-35 Joint Strike fighter (JSF) to Lockheed.
