Ideas whose time has come
Article Abstract:
Entrepreneurial vision is attractive for venture capitalists as is shown by two examples. The first is Targus which produces portable computer cases. The company was backed by Kleinwort Benson Development Capital which made a profit after six years through a secondary buy-out. The second is London and Henley which was also helped by Kleinwort Benson, in this case to develop its real estate interests. A flotation is planned for this company in 1999, which will allow an exit.
