Effigy tray and stand
Article Abstract:
Alessi Spa's Effigy tray and stand won a gold award in the consumer products category of the 1992 I.D. Annual Design Review. The Native American-inspired tray and stand is one of nine designs based on an international competition staged by Alessi that had 'memory' as a theme. The design of the item was praised incorporating sculptural quality without sacrificing function. The design is totemistic, but is achieved with subtlety and refinement. Lisa Krohn of Los Angeles, CA, and Martha Davis of New York, NY, made the design.
