Lockheed takeover of Insys Group clears U.K. hurdle

Lockheed Martin UK Holdings Ltd., subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corp., has cleared a major hurdle in its bid to takeover a UK defense contractor, Insys Group Ltd. A UK regulator is ready to accept Lockheed assurances that the Bethesda, Maryland, firm would safeguard the UK military secrets, and thus would not compel the buyout proposal to navigate review by the Competition Commission.

Colonel: Osprey crash caused by system malfunction; Fix is found
Article Abstract:
The V-22 Osprey program manager Col. Bill Taylor reported that the V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft crashed due to a malfunctioning component caused the engine to rev up suddenly. Pilots are being re-trained on corrective action to take if there is an uncommanded acceleration of an engine, and resultant uncommanded flight.
