Euroconvertible bonds
Article Abstract:
Taiwanese companies have long used Euroconvertible bonds to raise capital, and the number of Taiwanese Euroconvertible bond issues in 1997 is expected to exceed 1996's volume. Taiwanese companies prefer Euroconvertible bonds as they are readily adaptable to financing expansions and because their low-coupon structures reduces issuers' interest costs. The advantages to foreign buyers of Taiwanese Euroconvertible bond issues is that it gives them access to Taiwanese investment opportunities.
