Article Abstract:
Vychodoceske plynarenske strojirny (VPS) (Rosice u Chrasti, Czech Republic), engineering firm, saw a loss of nearly CEK 10 mil in 2000. The firm will cover the loss from its statutory fund, which includes profits for the past few years. VPS generated profits of several millions of Czech crowns till 1998. Reasons for the drop of the firm's results were an increase in gas prices and subsequent low demand for gas heating. VPS is involved mainly in designing activities, the assemblies and repair of gas equipment and the production of gas regulation equipment.
