Health care
Article Abstract:
The United Kingdom health care sector includes over-the-counter drugs, medical instruments, and nursing homes. Companies that develop new drugs are classed as pharmaceutical companies. Health care companies lack glamor, and face price pressures. There is uncertainty about demand for nursing homes, which makes investments risky. Some companies wait until they have secured long-term contracts prior to investing. Demand is increasing as the population ages, and there is hope that the new Labor government will invest in health care.
