Rep. Norm Dicks (D. Wash.) stated that the Air Force ought to weight considerations such as government subsidies and whether the aircraft is made in America in choosing a new aerial refueling tanker in 2006. At a press briefing jointly hosted by Defense Today and BAE Systems Dicks made its plain that he was speaking in favor of one likely bidder, The Boeing Co., and against another bidding participant, the European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. (EADS).
