Fleischman-Hillard Inc has purchased Greer, Margolis, Mitchell, Burns and Assoc (GMMB&A), a Democratic public affairs agency based in Washington, DC. GMMB&A was formed in 1983 and employs over 100 people in its offices in Seattle, WA, and Los Angeles, CA. It has worked for Senators Barbara Boxer, Kent Conrad and Ben Nelson, and Representatives Rosa DeLauro, Jane Harmon and Mark Udall as well as for Governors Howard Dean, Jim Hunt and Frank O'Bannon.

Omnicom acquires speakers bureau
Article Abstract:
Omnicom Group has purchased Alexandria, VA-based Washington Speakers Bureau (WSB). The acquisition is believed to be symbolic of Omnicom's interest in buying supplier firms since most of the large PR firms and advertising agencies have already been sold. WSB's clients are prominent people on the speech circuit worldwide such as Katie Couric, General Colin Powell and Margaret Thatcher. Its 1999 revenues were around $15 million.
