Jumper: Make Raptor a joint service program

The U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. John Jumper has made a proposal stating that the F/A-22 Raptor fighter aircraft program should become a program that is operated jointly among the armed services. He praised the Raptor's capability and performance and also defended the Air Force's continued insistence that it requires 381 Raptors in order to equip its air expeditionary forces.

Top Air Force officials used the forum of the Air Force Association to continue their fight on behalf of the F/A-22 Raptor, an aircraft they feel is extremely vital to the Air Force mission. The Raptor has a great applicability for ensuring U.S. dominance of airspace in any kind of conflict, including urban welfare and other unconventional contests.
