Lockheed Martin marks midcourse missile defense milestone

Lockheed Martin Corp. in 2006 has completed an important phase of testing toward the development of multiple kill vehicles (MKVs) for protecting the United States against a missile attack. The testing served to prove the efficacy of a guidance system for the MKV, referred to by the company as a pathfinder seeker, and likened by Douglas Graham, vice president of advanced programs, missile, defense systems at Lockheed Martin Space System unto eyes for the individuals kill vehicles.

Analyst says missile defense won't work

The national missile defense system which is under construction in March 2006 by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is not likely to be effective, so it is not a significant factor in the military plans of the US's potential adversaries. There are various forces contributing to different nation's drives to acquire nuclear weaponry and associated delivery system, but the MDS program is not prominent among them.

MDA to try knock-out punch in early 2005 BMD test

A Missile Defense Agency (MDA) spokesman states that the MDA would raise bar for developing U.S. missile defense with a flight test in order to knock down a target. The main objective of this test is to make sure that everything in the ballistic missile defense system (BMDS) is integrated properly up to the point.
