Lockheed wins up to $8 billion aerial common sensor contract

Lockheed Martin Corp., the largest defense contractor, won the contract to build the Army and Navy Aerial Common Sensor (ACS) intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platform, a program estimated to be worth an eventual $6 billion to $8 billion. This system is designed to function most effectively by connecting with other ACS aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles and ground stations through a network of space and terrestrial communications systems.

Military raps Lockheed for misleading subcontractors
Article Abstract:
Lockheed Martin Corp, the largest defense contractor is condemned by a defense agency on the grounds of its misleading parts-supply firms to believe that they should obtain licensing agreements with Lockheed before bidding on Pentagon contracts for parts needed in cargo aircraft. However, under contracting rules, the agency requires to take affirmative action to enhance competition for procurement opportunities.
