Article Abstract:
Logicon/Syscon Services, Inc., Falls Church, Va., is being awarded a $11,443,296 modification to previously awarded fixed-price incentive contract N00024-97-C-5214 for 50,000 hours of effort to conduct combat system engineering for digital computer-based shipboard combat systems. The work will primarily include engineering for ship combat design and integration with warfare battle group systems and industrial support. Examples of systems to be supported are, but not limited to, anti-submarine warfare systems, anti-aircraft warfare systems, cooperative engagement capability, mine warfare, amphibious and acoustics engineering. This engineering will support a variety of shipbuilding programs and overhauls such as SSN/SSBN, CV/CVN, CG/CGN, DD/DDG, FFG, LSD/LHD/LHA/LPD/LCC, MCS/MCM/MHC and ARS/AOE/AFS/AD. Work will be performed in Arlington, Va. (50%), and Falls Church, Va. (50%), and is expected to be completed by February 2000. Contract funds in the amount of $1,144,330 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Raytheon Systems Co., Naval and Maritime Systems, Mukilteo, Wash., is being awarded a $5,829,411 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide support to the Coast Systems Station in design and fabrication of the demonstration target detection system, to develop a demonstration launch case and modifying a lightweight test vehicle, and to complete several systems engineering tasks and studies and conduct subsystem and system level demonstrations. Work will be performed in Portsmouth, R.I. (80%), and Mukilteo, Wash. (20%), and is expected to be completed by March 2001. Contract funds in the amount of $600,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured through a broad agency announcement and one offer was received. The Coastal Systems Station Dahlgren Div., Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City, Fla., is the contracting activity (N61331-99-C-0004).
