Article Abstract:
Boeing North American, Inc., Electronic Systems and Missile Defense, Anaheim, Calif., is being awarded a $5,314,000 split firm-fixed-priced contract for production of one AN/USQ-82 (V) fiber optic data multiplex systems (FODMS). The FODMS is the complete ship's information transfer system aboard DDG 51 class ships used to transfer data to and from the navigation system, damage control, alarm systems, propulsion plant, steering and various other systems. Work will be performed in Anaheim, Calif. (80%), and El Paso, Texas (20%), and is expected to be completed by June 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with two proposals solicited and two offers received. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00024-99-C-5201).

GTE Government Systems, Taunton, Mass., is being awarded a $77,198,000 firm-fixed-price contract for tactical data network/digital technical control. The tactical data network will augment the existing Marine air-ground task force (MAGTF) communication infrastructure to provide the commander an integrated data network, forming the communications backbone for MAGTF tactical data systems and defense message system. Work will be performed in Taunton, Mass., and is expected to be completed by Jan. 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 103 proposals solicited and three offers received. The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity (M67854-99-C-2059).
