UK investors may find that company registrars do not pay them for shares promptly, and can even lose the shares. Redress is difficult to obtain. Companies may respond to complaints slowly and there is no control of registrars, nor authorization. Investors should use registered post to send share certificates and keep records of all communication with share registrars. The company concerned should be notified if the registrar fails to be helpful.

ISIPs, Part 2: Strategic Investment and Tax Planning

Article Abstract:

Canada's indexed security investment plans (ISIPs) can help many improve their net after tax yields. The benefits are greater than previously thought, even with ISIPs drawbacks. Benefits exist for a variety of situations, at all levels of inflation, for both long and short holding periods, and for active investors. A computer model was used to test situations. Capital gains from ISIPs are exempt from Quebec tax. Exhibits are included.
