On the adequacy of legal documents: Factors that influence informed consent
Article Abstract:
There is often risk involved for one or both parties signing contracts or formalized agreements. Some of the factors related to the usability of legal documents are assessed. A study found that improved forms significantly helped comprehension compared to conventional forms. Comprehension of a conventional legalistic consent form was poor, but each person in the study signed it. With the improved form, participants tended to take advantage of the option of undertaking a less risky activity.

Trust, control strategies and allocation of function in human-machine systems
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the influence of trust in the manual-or-automatic control choice of operators. Operators may opt for automatic control if they have sufficient trust in automatic controllers. However, higher trust in their capabilities may prompt them to control the system manually. Operators also have to consider the proper allocation of function between automatic and manual control as this will have a significant effect on system performance.
