Philips will buy deep-fat fryers from Isolit-Bravo
Article Abstract:
Isolit Bravo (IB) (Jablonne nad Orlici, Czech Republic), electrical appliance, moulding and mould manufacturer, has been awarded a contract by Philips (Netherlands). IB will produce deep-fat fryers for Philips from the middle of 2001. The supplies should include 400,000 pieces per year worth CEK 315 mil. Besides, IB is manufacturing liquidizers for Philips at the moment. It sold 500,000 pieces of the products in 2000. IB also manufactures kitchen equipment for other multinational concerns. It is increasing exports under its trade mark Bravo, which was intended mainly for the domestic market originally. In 2000 IB exported products worth about CEK 25 mil. Its moulding division is preparing a new project for the supplies of automotive air conditioning components for Valeo (France). A consumer of IB's mould division is Ericsson (Sweden), among others. IB, which has 400 employees, saw proceeds of CEK 639 mil in 2000. CEK 398 mil of the sum were generated by exports.

Infineon Trutnov builds a new hall
Article Abstract:
Infineon Technologies CR (IT CR) (Trutnov, Czech Republic), electrical technology firm, will commission a new hall in Jun 2001. The hall will raise the production of a new plant, which was commissioned in Jan 2001. The step will increase the number of the firm's employees by 700. The investment costs on the equipment of the new hall will amount to nearly CEK 800 mil. The parent company Infineon Technologies (Munich, Germany) plans to invest more than CEK 1 bil in the extension of production in the trade year 2001. A part of optical fibre production, the unique production of optical and electronic converters and cable connector production has been transferred from Germany to Trutnov. The transfer of other kinds of special production is being prepared. IT CR has over 1,100 employees. Their number should increase to 1,300 persons by the end of Sep 2001.

Eta becomes profitable

Eta (Hlinsko v Cechach, Czech Republic), the largest Czech electrical appliance manufacturer, increased its proceeds by 3.5% to CEK 726 mil for 1Q 2001 compared to 1Q 2000. The company saw a gross profit of CEK 16.7 mil for 1Q 2001 compared to a loss of more than CEK 13 mil for 1Q 2000. The firm's proceeds for 1Q 2001 were positively influenced by exports, which represented nearly 69% of its proceeds.
