Article Abstract:
There are 21 Russian funds in 1995 compared with eight such funds in 1994. Privatization is underway and a stake in Gazprom of some 9% will reportedly be sold to foreigners. There are concerns such as the illness of Boris Yeltsin, president. and a banking crisis in 1995. Some 582 banks of a total of 3,000 in Russia are technically bankrupt. The government may have to aid the banks for political reasons. Investors also face practical problems such as lack of a central stock exchange.

Finance: call for more banks reform
Article Abstract:
The Prague Stock Exchange has developed rapidly since 1994 ranking among the biggest world wide in terms of issues traded. There are over 50 banks in the Czech Republic and the government aims to privatize the major banks. Foreign investment has increased and the Czech National bank has broadened the band for currency fluctuation to ease the impact of this investment. The Czech labor force is cheap and well trained which should prove attractive to foreign investors.
