Bangladesh is continuing to make economic recovery progress, a process reinforced with the election of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Jul. 1996. The government's free-market policy includes corporate tax exemptions for privately-owned power companies, incentives for build-own-operate projects, and encouragement of foreign investment.
