Siemens will dismiss 500 employees
Article Abstract:
Siemens Automobilova technika (SAT) (Stribro, Czech Republic), manufacturer of automotive bunched cables, will decrease the number of its employees by the summer of 2001. The number of SAT's employees will decrease by 500 compared to the current 2,500 persons. The reason is the transfer of the assembly plant of the concern VW from Brussels, Belgium, to Spain. The companies of the group Siemens in the Czech Republic saw a turnover of more than CEK 32 bil in the fiscal year 2000, which ended on 30 Sep 2000. The sum is 24% higher compared to the fiscal year 1999. Their net profit rose to CEK 877 mil in the fiscal year 2000 compared to CEK 360 mil in the fiscal year 1999.
