Special forces personnel are showing an increasing tendency to opt out of the services in favor of more lucrative jobs, taking their many valuable years of experience with them. Witnesses representing the Special Operations Commands for the Army, Navy, and Air Force sought to put a positive face on the personnel issue, as there is an increasing trend for special operations people to opt out of the service when they hit the 20-year service point qualifying them for retirement.
