Tandy Attacks IBM PC
Article Abstract:
Tandy Corp. has introduced a new machine that may be the most important in its IBM-compatible line. The Tandy TRS-80 Model 1000 is the third in a line of IBM-compatible personal computers, and with it Tandy hopes to boost slipping sales at its Radio Shack stores. The 1000 is functionally identical to the IBM PC but will be offered for about $1,200, half the PC's price. The 1000 is twice as fast as the PCjr and its base price includes the DOS-BASIC program and bundled applications.
