The sedan model of Fabia will be launched in May 2001

Skoda Auto (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), automotive company, will launch a brand new sedan model of its Fabia car on 12 and 13 May 2001. The basic version of the model will cost CEK 306,200. The firm plans to sell 30,000 pieces of the model in 2001. It offers three stages of car equipment, namely "classic", "comfort" and "elegance", and six kinds of engines.

Karosa ends with the engines Renault and Liaz

Karosa (Vysoke Myto, Czech Republic), bus manufacturer, will stop to mount the engines Renault and Liaz to its buses by the end of Sep 2001. The firm will replace the engines with the engine Cursor F2B, which has been developed by the concern Iveco (Italy). A reason is the exhalation standard Euro3, which will come into effect in Oct 2001.

Vehicle production strengthens the industry

Czech Republic: The domestic automotive industry represents nearly 15% of Czech industrial production. Vehicle exports represented 17.2% of total exports in 2000 compared to 16.6% in 1999. The largest Czech automotive company is Skoda Auto (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), which produced over 428,000 cars in 2000.
