Transforming the Naval District Washington into a self-renewing organization
Article Abstract:
The Naval District Washington adopted a linear change management model for its transformation into a self-renewing, customer-focused organization. Using the model, a strategic planning framework was developed to carry out its objectives. A training committee was created in order to provide information and skills required for a self-renewing enterprise concerning team building and quality tools. Despite numerous challenges, such as lack of strategic focus and organizational structure problems, the improvement processes during the transformation period proved to be successful.

Tying quality to strategy to ensure the success of both
Article Abstract:
Quality is an effective means for organizations to conduct business. It is based on the assumption that organizations operate to achieve their goals through straightforward and direct means. Unnecessary complications resulting in unnecessary expenses must be eliminated. Any task done in the name of quality should support the organization's strategies. On the other hand, the aims of organizations must form the basis of their quality initiatives. As such, quality and strategy are always bound together.
