Turmoil at Chartered Accountants' Hall
Article Abstract:
The controversy over awarding the 'recommended supplier status' by the institute to the president-elect of ICAEW, Graham Durgan's company Emile Woolf International (EWI) for ACA training contracts in Russia and China has lead to Durgan's stepping down at the last moment. The outgoing president Ian Morris who has extended his tenure by six months to look over the matter describes Durgan's conduct as noble for putting the institute ahead of personal stakes.
